Prematurity, the mortality predictor

Children with a CHD who were delivered before 36 weeks of gestation had 72% mortality.

It's a pity that data from years 1999-2004 doesn't include the gestational age, as it appears to be a powerful mortality predictor. This field was introduced together with the software at the beginning of year 2005. I can't yet analyze this data because we don't have the central database with the new structure yet.

My data analysis showed that the weight is a good mortality predictor, but can't predict 72% of mortality.

The prematurity and age are related. I believe that the new factor will bring a significant improvement to the EACTS Congenital Database data analysis.
